PROJECT SCOPE
Brand Identity
The new InterContinental Auckland, gracing the city's waterfront at 1 Queen Street is set to redefine luxury hospitality in the city from an unrivalled location. Central to the hotel’s offering is their signature restaurant, Advieh, led by esteemed chef-partner Gareth Stewart. The restaurant draws inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine and champions New Zealand's finest produce. We were asked to create a brand identity for Advieh that put a contemporary twist on the inspirations behind the food and the experience.
We designed the Advieh wordmark to evoke the elegant, flowing forms of Arabic calligraphy. It’s supported by a soft and simple colour palette, drawn from the warm, rich hues of the spices that form the cornerstone of Advieh's culinary offerings.
The archway graphic serves as a symbolic invitation to enter the world of Advieh. It is used both as a framing device for imagery and as a pattern throughout the restaurant's printed material; a doorway to the restaurant’s Middle Eastern inspirations.
